WizCARDS v0.2.0


Hi, again!

I'm having a lot of fun making WizCards and this next update is making it feel more like an actual game to me.  No one has beaten the old version yet so I worked on the difficulty scaling and variety to hopefully push more people to do it. For the next major release, I want to add more varied gameplay by introducing a new feature... BOSSES! Furthermore, I would like to also add an actual ending that isn't just a wall of text, as well as some more context to the beginning of the game. I listed the changes for the current version below.

Updates v0.2.0- Over the Air

This update alters the game significantly by changing the level scaling, changing how items are chosen in updates, and adding a variety of QoL changes like an updated tooltip window. Furthermore, a small number of new items have been added to allow for more varied gameplay (4 cards and 5 new relics).

  • New difficulty scaling
    • The game now scales difficulty more linearly and limits the difficulty for each level
  • New Element- Air
    • The air element allows for defense by pushing units around
    • Air combines with Fire, Water, and Earth to launch small debris at enemies
  • 4 New Cards
    • Stream Push[Epic][Water] Summon a stream to push away units.
    • Gust Tap [Common][Air] Tapping pushes units for a short time
    • Quake Touch[Epic][Earth]Tapping releases a small quake for a short time
    • Air Shield [Rare][Air] Creates a protective shield of air around your home for a while
  • 5 New Relics
    • Vladius[Legendary] Summon the immortal Bat Lord
    • Clear Soul[Epic] Increase tap damage when cards aren't used
    • Boxing Glove[Common] Increases tap damage
    • Glove of Waves[Legendary] There is power in patience.
    • Finger of the Dealer[Epic] The Dealer's finger appears in packs
  • Items and relics now have rarities. More rare items are generally more powerful but appear less often
    • Common- Weight = 10
    • Rare- Weight = 5
    • Epic- Weight = 3
    • Legendary- Weight = 1
  • Quickplay now automatically plays targeted cards near the cursor.
  • Units collide with each other to prevent stacking.
  • New Unit- Knights:
    • Knights have armor that defends them against the first few instances of damage that they take.
  • New Enemy- Elves:
    • Elves are fast and attack from a range
  • Angels reworked: Ghosts
    • Ghosts will revive as the last killed unit type and increase their base stats significantly.
      • If the last unit killed was a ghost their true form reveals itself.
  • [Enemy]Wizard: Reworked
    • Wizards no longer summon card enemies to attack you
    • Wizards begin to cast a spell and can be interrupted before their attack is completed.
    • Health reduced: 6 -> 5
  • [Card]Graveyard: Reworked:
    • Kills increased: 3 -> 10
    • Exhausts itself (removes from the deck) after use
  • [Card]Bear Attack: Nerfed
    • Health reduced: 8 > 7
  • [Card]Chain Lightning: Buffed
    • Search radius increased: 50 > 80
  • Overhauled the tooltip system to give you more information about items.
    • Press shift or go into settings to enable more details
  • Bug fixes...
